Mahmoud obaidi (B. 1966, Baghdad)
Artist / Curator
Is an Iraqi-Canadian artist whose work has been exhibited in museums and galleries around the world. After leaving Iraq in 1991, he obtained his Masters of Fine Arts at the University of Guelph in Canada, & completed diplomas in New Media and Film from Toronto & Los Angeles, respectively. His work has been exhibited extensively, including at MOMA PS1/ NYC / British Museum – London / Venice Biennale / Qatar Museums Gallery, Doha / Mathaf: Arab Museum Of Modern Art-Doha / Saatchi Gallery – London / The National Museum of Bahrain / The Institut du Monde Arabe – Paris / The National Gallery of Fine Arts – Amman / Station Museum of Contemporary Art – Texas & The Musée D’art Contemporain De Baie-Saint-Paul – Québec, among others. His work is part of the Permanent Collection of a number of significant museums, foundations, & private collections. Curated more than 40 shows in different spaces around the world including Saatchi Gallery – Nabu Museum. Architect of Fire Station; Artist In Residency – Doha Qatar & Nabu Museum – Lebanon.

Nadiia Chernovil (1980 Lviv, Ukraine)

Nadiia Chernovil is a curator and an art theorist of visual culture, currently based in Doha, Qatar. Since 2014, she has been a private Art Consultant for Qatar Royal Family members, a member of Qatar Fine Art Association, a member of Qatar Tour Guide Association, and an agent and Strategic Manager of Artist Andrii (Abhinava) Chernovil. Nadiia focuses on producing theoretical research projects, employing the ideas of unity of peoples’ goals through the sport of shooting targets as an allegory of human goals. Her curatorial projects focus on international collaborative art practices, sustainable art projects by artists looking at visual positive influence on the public, and community-based projects.

Mohamad Anas Ktit (1985 Damascus, Syria)
Director / Curator
Ktit is a Syrian curator based in Qatar. He has been the director of Al Markhiya Art Gallery, Qatar, since 2008 in addition to Doha Fire Station and Katara Art Center. Al Markhiya is the oldest privately owned multi-disciplinary gallery in Qatar, presenting emerging and established Arab artists. He has a degree in Business Administration (Finance & Banking) from Tishreen University, Latakia, Syria, and a degree in Business Accounting from North Atlantic College, Doha, Qatar. Discovering new talents and assisting in the ongoing development of an artist’s practice is also a key role for him. In addition to curating, Ktit makes presentations to collectors and develops parallel public programming as a means of promotion and engagement in the local art scene in Doha. He has curated numerous number of exhibitions seeking to draw artists and residents from Qatar together in creative discourse.
